Dental extractions is oftentimes the last option for a tooth that is determined to be hopeless or non-restorable.  Factors that determine whether a tooth needs to be removed include: extensive damage to the tooth where it cannot be repaired or significant bone loss which compromises the longevity of treatment.  If left untreated, bad teeth can lead to other issues such as dental pain, infection, and damage to other teeth.
